It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.

first of all sorry for my bad English, because writing about this movie is not small thing for me who is very passionate about his country,i don't know how many times i watched this movie.may be more times then any human can(for his nation patriotic movie).this is the best example for patriotic movie.so.story is just like 300movie with guns.lots of Pakistani soldiers(2000) with tanks were fighting against 120 Indians.(actually its not 120,because.in old saying in Punjab that 1 Sikh =10 human ).so story was kinda related to history of India vs Pakistan war,Talking about dialogues, just awesome, most of the dialogues of this movie will produce adrenaline in your blood.music by anu malik is just fantastic.acting by heroes are just over talented.specially sunny deol....he just rocks,,,,,,if there are any reasons behind, this movie is further more then any 1 can achieve is.his dialogue delivery.its f&*^in awesome.just watch it...

JP Dutta has made several great films like Ghulami and Batwara in 80s, After the debacle of Kshatriya he returned with Border which brings together Sunny Deol, Suneil Shetty, Akshaye Khanna and a huge cast. The movie is an adaptation from real life events that happened at the Battle of Longewala fought in Rajasthan (Western Theatre) during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 and Bangladesh Liberation War. The film shows the life of Army people and how the war was fought. Also in between we have their romantic life shown and their sacrifies which ends into a dramatic climax which may not be 100% real, as in the war only 2 soldiers were killed but yet its well handled.Direction by JP Dutta is good Music by Anu Malik was a big hit, Sandese still remains memorable, Sonu Nigam and Roop Kumar Rathod do a great job, Hamein Jab Se is a superb romantic song sung by Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik. While Ae Jaate is a superb number by Roop Kumar Rathod rest songs are good tooAmongst the towering cast Sunny Deol is superb in his tailormade role, Suneil Shetty too delivers a great performance, after this film he is a regular of JP Dutta films, Akshaye Khanna in his second film does a superb job,Jackie Shroff is good in a small role, Puneet Issar and Sudesh Berry too do a great job, JP Dutta's regular Khulbushan Kharbandra is fab, Amongst actresses Pooja Bhatt is good, Sharbani Mukherjee is okay, Tabu is good too rest are okay

How can a movie which is full of jingoism & Chauvenism categorize as a legendary bollywood movie? Well, honestly speaking, i don't know. But what i do know is that whenever this movie is shown on TV, i still make it a point that i don't miss even one second of it. Thats the real genius of the movie. It has caught the aspirations of many patriotic indians like me and hence, has succeeded in showcasing the same in the best possible way(minus the jingoism). Though, this movie would not appeal much to the International audience (Let alone Pakis), but it has always struck a chord with the millions of Indians who have seen this movie. I was 11 when this movie released. I remember that after i and my friends had watched it in the theater, we used to pretend to be the characters of the movie while playing. The performances are really convincing, including that of Jackie Shroff even though he is hardly seen on the screen. If anyone(especially any Indian) is reading this comment, i suggest that you quickly grab a DVDof this movie).

The Movie is an attempt to bring into limelight the Historic Battle of Longewala located in Rajasthan. The Pakistan Army opens Western Front against India to force away Indian effort to liberate Bangladesh from tyrant Pakistani rule. The Pakistani Army assuming that Indian Forces have only limited presence on Western Border attacks through Rajasthan in Longewala. The movie depicts true event and is not a piece of fiction as far as Battle is concerned. Its true that there was a company of only 120 men against almost 2500 Pakistani Troops along with over 60 Tanks engaged in the Battle of Longewala. The Indian Post at Longewala had strategic advantage of being at higher level and also was one of the prime reasons for shameful defeat of Pakistani Tank Column and Infantry at the hands of a handful Indians !!The characters have been carefully chosen and developed beautifully in the movie. The Battle appears almost real with men at their respective positions as in actual battle. The intensity is high and so is the depiction of morale. The Indian Air Force striking the Pakistanis in the morning was clearly seen although there was a little more role that IAF played in actual battle. The dramatic scenes are good enough to make you shed a tear for the unsung heros.Overall the movie is great considering the complexities involved in shooting a real war scene. Its a must watch for all the people who do not know about the battle that is considered a strategic one in defeat the Pakistani Army by Indian Forces in 1971 war.The movie is complete with patriotic moments,is well shot and well delivered. A must watch for every Indian....Also for those who like Real War Flicks!!
