Outposts of Empire (1915)
Scenes from the East Africa Campaign of WWI: British soldiers prepare for an assault against German colonial forces. As they try to coax and cajole their pack animals on to a military supply train, the mules prove as stubborn as, well, mules! The beasts dig in their hooves as the men heave on their bridles and an officer's whip crackles against their haunches.

Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.
The movie runs out of plot and jokes well before the end of a two-hour running time, long for a light comedy.
An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
