Coming of the Moon (1988)
Due to bad weather, gymnast Katya Prokhorova, going to international competitions, ends up in her hometown of Razlelsk and, arriving at the school where she once studied, meets a young singing teacher and falls in love with him. A few days later she leaves, and upon returning from the competition, she confesses to him that she has fallen in love with someone else. Time passes. The singing teacher becomes a famous composer, but does not stop loving and waiting for Katya...

It's no definitive masterpiece but it's damn close.
A bit overrated, but still an amazing film
This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.
It is interesting even when nothing much happens, which is for most of its 3-hour running time. Read full review
