One of the best films i have seen
One of my all time favorites.
Simple and well acted, it has tension enough to knot the stomach.
Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?
Here, in former USSR, Fantozzi movies are relatively well-known and shown on TV often. It's not a masterpiece, it's a simple comedy made by Italians for Italians but occasionally it achieved some international acclaim; many nations have such ones, for example, in former USSR comedies about Shurik adventures ("Operation Y and Other Shurik's Adventures", "Prisoner of the Caucasus, or Shurik's New Adventures", "Ivan Vasilyevich Changes Occupation") are cult classic, but not well-known abroad. As for Fantozzi movies - they are very funny sometimes, sometimes silly, but generally good. This satire makes me feel sorry for poor Fantozzi and his poor family (especially his poor daughter), I think it's too pessimistic.Of course, it's much better than most of modern American comedies made by Americans for Americans, which can be seen on our screens because of their big budget (of course, I don't mean Woody Allen - I'm his fan).
